Job Description

The ideal candidate for this opening is someone passionate about nurturing authentic relationships. You’ll be tasked with building relationships with prospective clients to look for ways Differential can partner with them to rapidly unlock value for their organization. We see ourselves as partners (not vendors) with our clients. We want to build multi-year partnerships with good people with meaningful ideas. We are looking for a highly organized, excellent communicator that excels at pitching top executives and management for digital product initiatives. Our business development playbook is continuously being tested and improved to help you meet and pitch new prospective clients.


At Differential, we design, develop, support, and commercialize great digital products. Our process aims to create original digital products and services that innovate and reshape companies and organizations. This position will be focused on growing Differential’s core business and expanding the customer base for our existing Digital Product Partnerships — we have three distinct commercial licenses for digital products:

  • Airport Operations software (Multi-Year Contacts, six to seven figure deals)

  • Apollos Mobile, TV Platform — Church experience software for people to practice spiritual habits and stay connected to their church community digitally.

  • Guides — Structured, consumer friendly mobile app software specialized for 4 to 16 week learning experiences and small group discussions.


Our Core Business typically starts with pitching a Design Sprint — a 4 to 6 week consulting process for aligning and designing a new digital product. And then pitching a 6 to 12 month engagement to build the first version of the new digital product. In some cases, we see an opportunity to commercialize the software for our clients to help them recoup their original investment—that’s typically where new Digital Product Partnerships are formed. We are constantly looking for new digital product partnership opportunities as well. Above all, we are focused on finding someone that we love to work with. Job requirements

What you can expect to do:

  • Work directly with a business development representative to book meetings to meet and pitch prospective clients.

  • Communicate with prospective clients via phone/email or virtual/in-person meetings.

  • Diligently execute a strategic follow up process to stay top of mind for when needs arise.

  • Make a positive impact on the culture and process of our growth team. We’re a growing team! We do not compete with each other — we collaborate with each other and share best practices.


What we’re after:

  • Passion for building authentic human relationships with clients.

  • Confidence to pitch small $35K consulting projects to multi-year, six to seven figure deals for big software initiatives and innovations.

  • Grit to persist through many follow-ups and conversations.

  • Demonstrated ability to rely on an iterative process to maintain momentum in a sales pipeline. In other words - our work is never going to be perfect, and we expect you to be able to prioritize what matters most now so we can iterate. Continuous improvement is our superpower.

  • Just as skilled at crafting and positioning a thoughtful response in email communications as with creating a compelling pitch deck.

  • Technical knowledge or specific experience selling digital products/software is desired, but not required.

  • Interest and curiosity for learning about digital products and how they work.

Candidates must be based in the United States and this role is highly desired to be based in Cincinnati, OH, and be available for meetings during standard business hours for client and team meetings. Specific times vary based on client-specific timezone preferences. There is flexibility in working hours but there is an expectation to be able to regularly attend client and team meetings. Willingness and ability to travel to client locations when necessary to bring in new business.
